Victory Hotel in Sellicks Beach has been a dining destination delight over many years, exciting visitors to the south of Adelaide with its superb dining options. This is a place favoured by locals and a great option to entertain out of towners with its spectacular views and smart food. Diners imbibe the view of rolling hills and stunning coastline. This is a place to come and while away a few hours, taking in the overall experience. On this occasion it was the celebration of the birthday of my father that drew us to Victory Hotel.
Victory Hotel has had a chic makeover building on its heritage since 1858 and reimagining with new sports bar, beer garden and restaurant, as well as boasting top notch underground cellars.
Victory Hotel impresses with fresh seasonal and regional produce like the sharing dish above of Antipasto platter w chargrilled chorizo, local olives, sliced meats, feta, pickled baby vegetables, dukkah & Andy Clappis casalinga bread. This is a generous platter with a wide range of quality produce. Andy Clappis is an artisan breadmaker in Willunga.
Also rewarding is this Organic lamb rump, smoked potato puree, pickled local quince, green beans, jus. The lamb was perfectly cooked with pink tinge and combined wonderfully with the smoky puree.
Art on a plate was this Confit duck leg, braised organic red cabbage, asparagus, spiced plum chutney, jus. Tender duck and crispy vegeatables are a superb combination.
The Local pear, rocket, hazelnut & goat’s feta salad was also a triumph, and perefect for these modern and rustic dishes.
The birthday boy...
Victory Hotel is a crowd pleaser and iconic experience of Adelaide, worth the drive to delightful Sellicks Hill. Highly recommended.
